Type of volcano and its Geologic location


Crater lake is a cinder cone volcano on a continental hotspot. Crater Lake is located 130 km northeast of Medford, Oregon. Crater lake was not made by any tectonic plate movmetns but by a magma chamber erupting. After the eruption the chamber emptied and the cone of the volcano collapsed inward causing a gap. eventualy rain filled in the gap with water. Then magma again rose and created wizard island.
